Random Thoughts....

  • Pork and Apples just belong together!  Yum!
  • Why can't people be nice to one another?  I know we all have our moments of crabbiness....but would it hurt to call your parents once in awhile?  On holidays?  Let them know that you care?
  • Minnesota without snow is really, really weird.  I want to go sit outside like I do during the warmer months but it is still pretty cold out.  I either want snow.....or warmer temps.
  • I have decided that I am rather antisocial.  I LOVE people, but I love my quiet home even more.  Mellow music, cozy spaces, good company......no need to talk and entertain, just to sit and read....that is heaven to me.
  • I have been bit by the Scrapbooking Bug.  I drool over paper, can't wait to buy embellishments, plot how to buy Cuttlebug and Cricut machines.  I've never been a crafty person....although I have always wanted to be....I just never took the time to work on anything.  Now, as the kids become a bit more independent, I feel the need for papers and adhesives and scissors.
  • A New Year!!!  ALREADY!!!  I will seek a better balance in my life.  ....and I will find it.
  • I love my family.  My husband is awesome and my kids are great!  What is it Garrison Keillor says?  Oh yeah, when he talks about Lake Wobegon where, "all the women are strong, all the men are good looking and all the children are above average."  LOL  um....yeah....well, maybe not quite that, but I'm happy.  :)
  • My Mom fills me.  When I take a minute and think about her....she fills my lungs, steadies my heart, and makes me smile.  We are coming up to 9 months since her passing....and  now I carry her memory within me, forever.  How blessed I have been to know such a spectacular woman.
  • I am impressed how my Dad has handled my Mom's passing.  I know that I don't see those lonely moments when he probably still thinks about her.....but maybe I can help him move forward a little by staying in close contact with him.  This is, by no means, a chore.   I enjoy our talks on the phone.  I am really enjoying the stories about his childhood and young adulthood.  He is telling stories that he never told too often when I was a kid.  I enjoy his company.
  • God is good.....and I am very blessed.  <3

  1. I haven't been getting updates for your blog.....you moved! When did this happen!!
Anywho--love random thoughts posts like this. I agree with the "anti-social" part. I love love love conversing with people....on my schedule. That's what makes blogging so great!

My mom has been gone for 10 years now and though I don't think about her so often anymore, I'm always glad I have such good memories. Time heals all wounds,...even the ones we think we'll NEVER get over.
    Blessings to you!

  2. I feel like I missing out on great stuff when I see/hear all about other people having friends and hanging out and all the fun they have. But I really like being on my own, too. No pressure, no fitting in, saying the wrong thing, etc. etc.
That's a great pic. You could crop it so the focus is on just them - not much background. I like how they are looking at each other.

  4. In response to the antisocial comment:

only half-naked in her dream that night because everybody else was completely naked & she just had to be different & when she woke up, she finally figured out why she spent most of her free time by herself.
