A Boring Day.....

It is that kind of a day.

Not a lot going on here today.  Gretchen is on the computer and Heidi and Eli are playing on the Wii.  We were going to do school....although rather half-heartedly....when the cell phone rang.  That was pretty much all it took to interrupt my reading of Kipling's "Gunga Din" and cause us to declare a school holiday.  My hope is that we will complete one week of school over this week and next week.  So we have plenty of time.  :)

The weather is taunting us with snow.....very fine flakes are fluttering down, but not really adding up to much of anything.  The wind comes along and blows the flakes away into neat little eddying piles....and these small piles skitter across the road and deck.....like little snowflake worlds orbiting one another.  I have images of Horton Hears a Who cruising through my brain.  LOL

What else to write.....what else to write............

My mind is blank.  I have things I would like to write..but few that care to read those topics.  I guess you start a blog thinking that you will be able to put down all your thoughts and feelings.  You find out, though, that as you gather a few followers that you write for them.  They become your audience and dictate, to a degree, what your subject matter will be.  I don't know whether that is right or wrong.....but it is what I find happening to me and my blog.  I was always taught to consider my audience when writing.  I was also taught to never put anything in print that you wouldn't want plastered on the front page of the New York Times.  (thanks for that wisdom, Mom). 

So, I have nothing to write.....nothing too deep, anyway.  I could write about family.....OMG!  Could I write about family.....but that would only start a small war.  I won't do that.  :snicker:  We aren't doing schooling too consistently right now.....this is our summer break, as it were.....so not much to add there.  My New Year's Resolutions.... that's an idea.  I have some very typical resolutions....but this year I am motivated to make them work.  We'll talk more about them when I'm further entrenched into them.
