You have to ask yourself, after creating a blog like this, why do people blog? And then, after blogging for awhile, why do people stop blogging? What is the initial motivation and what has caused them to stop? Has something traumatic and dramatic silenced the urge to share their beliefs and stories? Have they been so hurt that they never type out a another word in the public realm? Perhaps their own perception of etiquette on the internet is different from those that follow that persons ramblings and rantings.
You see, I don't feel that criticism belongs on a blog.....not a personal blog. If I were a public figure, a news anchor, for instance, or a politician, then I would expect and perhaps even encourage criticism and rebuttal. As a private citizen, though, I don't think that I want to tolerate someone's criticism of what I write and publish. I am not writing for you to correct me and feel superior to me. I would never dream of doing that to someone's blog. If I don't like what someone writes then I will go elsewhere and not read that blog anymore. I would not feel it necessary to tease and taunt them publicly. (No Tam! This is not about you!!! LOL)
So my blog has been made more private. A few of my followers have been deleted. I am thrilled that there are people, mostly family, that want to read my meandering thoughts on a blog.....it is nice to know that someone finds you even just a little interesting. I also have some family who find me negative and have chosen to cease communication with me, and other family who we feel are a threat to our homeschooling and family security at this point and so I have blocked them. Such is life. You will never be able to please all of the people all of the time.
After everything is said and done, I will continue my blog, with a new name and a new address. Hopefully, we can all get along. I will often say things that you don't agree with.........that's okay, really! We can just end that day disagreeing and move on to the next day.
As my Mother used to say, BE NICE! I promise to be nice to you, and you can be nice to me. It is a good way to live your life.
Thank you.
