The Journey Begins…….

So yesterday my new toy was delivered by UPS.  I am now the proud owner of a Cricut Expression Machine!  What fun the kids and I had yesterday.  The real surprise was who was most enamored with working at the machine!  Here's my new little Cricut technical adviser.....

I would have thought that the girls would have been all over the possibilities of what this machine could do.....but it was Eli who has adopted it.  LOL  I can't tell you how many sheets of cardstock have been used up.  He came to me at one point and exclaimed, "I could decorate my whole room!"  Yeah, clean it first, buddy!  LOL

Next week I will go out and buy some more supplies and begin my project of rebuilding my Mom's old scrapbook.  I also need to order Photoshop so that I can repair some of the old photos I have of her and her family.  I can't wait to start working on this project...........and finishing it.  It is so bittersweet to pour over Mom's life and kind of "put it in order".  I look at pictures of her as a little child and want to swoop her up and hug her soooooo bad!  I want to dress her in wonderful dresses and have her hair styled.  I want those that she loved with all her heart to never leave her............. although, as I am finding out....they never really did.  Her father, a big hulk of a man, was her first love.....she adored him.  I never met the man but have always felt like he and I were friends.  Kindred spirits, if you will.  He is as alive to me as my Mother is.  And as I carry Preston in my thoughts, I now carry my Mom.  Is it possible to feel closer to someone after they pass on?  Perhaps without the constraints of this physical world we allow our thoughts to love like we were truly meant to...... it is very heartwarming (that word is so inadequate) to feel my Mother's love.

So my project begins in earnest and I will start a new blog to document this endeavor.  As I finish the pages I will post them, along with the journaling, so you can share in my journey.  Wish me luck.....it is a journey of the heart that I embark on...........I can't wait.  The tears may fall, but the love will grow...fuller, richer, and much more satisfying.  I love my Mom.

  3. I've told him about the vinyl.....you could see the wheels turning! LOL If he were older I'd worry about silhouettes of naked women....but for now, I think cars and motorcycles are all I need to worry about. :)
