Along with all the old pictures that I have of my Mom and Dad, I also
have an old Autograph Book. It is an old leather book that belonged to
Ella Irving Van Doren and is dated 1882. I love looking at it and at
all the wonderful sentiments that it holds for my Great-Great
Grandmother.

This is just a sampling of the entries. Now if I could just figure out how to preserve it, but still make it available for viewing. I guess I should scan each page and then put the book up....but won't the acids in the page eventually eat away the paper?
This is really cool.
ReplyDeleteIt depends on how much it's exposed to air and light. You can see that with newspaper - keep one out and it will yellow quickly, pack one away and you will see it lasts much longer. Just keep it in a photo safe, opaque box.
